Nominations for 2007 Prevention Awards

There are five categories for the Wisconsin State Prevention Conference awards:Awards graphic

Leadership in Prevention. To recognize an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the field of prevention at the community, state, or national level through professional service that benefited Wisconsin prevention efforts.

Outstanding Prevention Volunteer – Adult. To recognize an individual who has made significant contributions to their community in the field of prevention or has improved the health of their community. This award recognizes service outside of employment, but may be given to someone who works in the prevention field in recognition of their contributions as a volunteer in community prevention initiatives.

Outstanding Prevention Volunteer – Youth. To recognize a youth, up to age 20, who, as a volunteer, has made significant contributions to their community in the field of prevention or has shown leadership in their community’s prevention efforts.

Outstanding Prevention Coalition. To recognize a coalition or community partnership that has made significant contributions to their community in the field of prevention, has improved the health of their community, or has contributed to positive youth development. A coalition or community partnership is a group of local people who come together and take responsibility for identifying and solving local health problems.

Lifetime Achievement in Prevention. To recognize an individual that has made exceptional contributions to the field of prevention over the years. This individual is an innovative thinker, whose work has advanced prevention efforts in Wisconsin and is viewed by his or her peers as an integral part of Wisconsin prevention efforts.

 

 

Deadline for nominations was May 31, 2007.
Award Winners will be honored at the Wisconsin Prevention Awards Banquet on Wednesday evening, July 25, 2007. Be sure to purchase your banquet ticket when you make your reservations for attending the 2007 Wisconsin State Prevention Conference.
