By attending this three-day conference you have
the opportunity to learn, share, and network in a cross-cultural
environment where innovative environmental strategies, evidence-based
programs, and the latest research will be presented. The conference will focus on
the areas of sustainability, capacity building and fundraising while
providing an opportunity for new partnerships and networking among
various systems and communities. In addition, the conference features
a pre-conference
Training Institute, offering five selected program trainings, including
the unveiling of the CADCA/CSAP collaborative
curriculum on "Advanced
Coalition Building."
The conference is designed to promote best practices,
evidence-based programs, and innovative sustainability strategies,
along with other environmental approaches, to help maintain prevention efforts.
These programs and strategies are offered as a way to improve the
effectiveness of local and state programs as we work toward creating
a healthier Wisconsin.
Conference objectives include:
- Sharing information
on the wide range of environmental strategies for prevention.
- Dissemination of
information regarding best practice standards and strategies.

Provision of current research in the fields of substance abuse
prevention, tobacco control, and mental health promotion, including
workshops on the latest brain research.
- Best practice training
in advanced coalition development and collaboration.
- Facilitating program
replication of evidence-based programs.
- Encouraging collaboration
between professionals and community leaders working in the fields
of substance abuse prevention, mental health promotion, and tobacco
control.
