Established
by the Minnesota Kings football team, the Viking Children's Fund
focuses on improving drug awareness and substance abuse treatment.
Drug awareness programs can include child care, abuse counseling
and child protection services. Substance abuse treatment programs
can include at-risk youth programs, mentoring programs, rehabilitation
and education programs and child abuse education. The third priority
area is family support programs that include rehabilitation, child
protection services, homeless shelters and family crisis centers.
The Foundation will also provide souvenirs or guest appearances
by players. The foundation tries to address the needs of Minnesota
and the upper Midwest area. There is no deadline for proposals.
