Wisconsin Broadcasters Association
http://www.wi-broadcasters.org/
The Alliance is a member of the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association (WBA). As such, Alliance members have online access to WBA’s Membership Directory, which typically costs non-members about $100.
The directory can be quite helpful in developing media relationships and recruiting coalition members from the radio and television stations. Alliance members can say that their local Alliance is a member of WBA!
WBA is the only trade association which supports, promotes and represents all radio and television broadcasters in Wisconsin. Ninety percent (90%) of all radio and televisions stations in Wisconsin, as well as associate member companies who provide services to the state’s broadcasting industry, are members of WBA.
Instructions to access the online WBA Membership Directory are available to local Alliance Key Contacts only.
Wisconsin Community Papers
http://www.wisad.com/pages/about_us.asp
Local Alliances have access to a free membership directory of free community papers in Wisconsin published by Wisconsin Community Papers.
WCP is a statewide association of free community paper publishers with 101 members and a distribution of more than 2 million weekly and semi-weekly issues. WCP provides training and networking opportunities for publishers and advertising opportunities for product vendors. The free publications contain a lot of paid advertisements, but are particularly well-positioned to carry free local news stories.
Alliance members are encouraged to use this directory to contact your local WCP member to:
- submit articles about your local Alliance information and activities to WCP members;
- invite community businesses to help pay for running prevention display ads;
- invite your local WCP representative to serve a media member of your local Alliance.
To receive your free WCP membership directory, email TSgt. Debbie McGough at mcgoudy@dhfs.state.wi.us or call 1-800-442-5772
