Prevention Works Through Community Partnerships: Findings from SAMHSA/CSAP's National Evaluation

CSAP's Community Partnership Program began in 1990 to create or expand existing drug prevention coalitions in communities across the nation. The Program funded 251 community partnerships across the United States and Puerto Rico. These partnerships included a wide array of members, such as local government, businesses, families, local colleges, faith organizations and many other facets of the community. After establishing these partnerships, the Program began a 48-community study designed to evaluate the impact of community partnerships on reducing substance abuse.
